Explore Twenty-Nine New Game Cards from Magic: The Gathering's TMNT Set (Including a Commander Precon Deck!)

Everyone's beloved pizza-loving heroes are coming to the popular trading card game. The popular TCG's publisher, Wizards of the Coast, revealed a much-awaited Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles collaboration at a special panel hosted at NYCC. Is this a radical addition or simply another Universes Beyond cash grab? We'll let you be the judge.

Take a look here at everything announced from the Magic x Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, including key context. All items listed here launches on March 6th, 2026, with one exception — the Pizza Bundle arrives a few weeks later on March 27.

Magic x TMNT: Main Set Cards

Before we get into all the various special decks and bundles on offer, we’ll examine at all the cards from the main Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles expansion unveiled by Wizards. Play boosters for the set are set at $6.99 per pack, while premium boosters are priced at $37.99 per pack.

Let’s explore a couple of shell-shocking details. To begin, a new gameplay mechanic called Sneak Attack, which is a riff on the pre-existing Ninjutsu ability, where players can cheat big creatures onto the battlefield whenever an attacking creature goes unblocked. The key change in this case is that Sneak can apply to non-creature spells as well. Wizards also used this chance to refine the ability a little (It counts as playing a spell, as opposed to the older mechanic). The original ability is staying, but it's more likely we'll see the new mechanic in future sets from now on.

Should we go back to the Kamigawa plane, it’s possible we’d use Ninjutsu because that plane is it was developed and it’s a hallmark of that world,” an experienced game designer explained. “However on other planes, since the rules are cleaner and Sneak is what's going to be Standard-legal, it's more likely we’ll use Sneak.”

That second variant of the leader Turtle, Sewer Samurai card, is one of four special cards with special art created exclusively for the set by TMNT co-creator the co-creator.

Oh, and, should you be surprised by the rules text on Turtles Forever card, which lets you play cards that aren't in your main deck, so was I. Yet according to Wizards, that's now a official card in every format of Magic.

Anyway, below are the extremely bizarre land cards with full art from the TMNT set:

As per the company’s current policy, these cards are fully legal in Magic’s Standard format. The designers say they took care to make sure the new cards and gameplay elements worked smoothly with current Standard expansions such as Edge of Eternities.

“I led the development for over a year and we knew it would be Standard-legal and what other sets would be alongside it in standard,” the designer says. “We designed to make sure that there's synergy with some of those sets like Edge of Eternities.”

For example, both TMNT and Edge of Eternities feature a blue-red archetype built around artifacts.

“They combine to offer the pieces for a fun Standard deck,” the designer added.

Commander Deck: Turtle Power

Following a decision to design any Commander precons for the Spider-Man set and the forthcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender expansions, Wizards is reversing course with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. This time it’s just one precon, but it includes six different legendary cards that can serve as your Commander depending on how you combine them (five cards include a unique Partner mechanic named “Character Select” that allows starting with two commanders in the command zone rather than just one). Check them out for yourself:

This Commander precon is set at $69.99, although the price may rise based on demand. Wizards told that it contains 43 new cards altogether, which translates to an additional 37 TMNT-themed game cards besides the six legendary creatures shown above. (Calculating roughly, this suggests approximately 20 reprinted cards if we assume the precon includes 37 land cards.)

What will the Turtles edition of Sol Ring look like? We’ll just have to wait and find out.

Standard Bundle (Regular)

Typically, Wizards is offering a collection. This one costs $69.99 and contains the listed items:

  • 9 Play Boosters
  • Fifteen Foil land cards
  • 15 Non-foil basic lands
  • 2 helper cards
  • 1 Traditional foil promo card
  • 1 Oversized life tracker
  • One Card-storage box

Pizza Bundle

This is a special idea for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles set, mostly in that it comes in a box resembling a pizza box. Each pizza-themed bundle is priced at $99.99 and includes the following:

  • 9 Standard Boosters
  • One Collector Booster
  • 25 Regular pizza-themed lands
  • Five Traditional foil pizza basic lands
  • 2 Foil Pizza Bundle promotional cards
  • 2 Reference cards
  • 1 Large spindown life counter
  • 1 Card-storage box

If you’re wondering about the “Pizza Bundle promo card” means, it’s basically a reprinted older card with brand-new TMNT artwork. Wizards revealed an example for the popular Magic card Dark Ritual depicting master Splinter sprinkling toppings on a pizza. In total, there are six distinct pizza promos in total.

The Pizza Bundle launches a couple of weeks later than the main set on March 27, 2026.

Draft Bundle

This special bundle is designed for a four-person draft and costs $119.99. That will get you:

  • 12 Play Boosters (ideal for a group of four to play draft)
  • 1 Premium Booster (also known as, the reward for coming in first)
  • 90 Non-foil basic lands (to build your draft deck)
  • 10 Regular token cards
  • 1 drafting guide (a single-page instruction sheet to drafting this expansion)

Turtle Team-Up

Finally, the developers are doing something new with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as part of its continued initiative to create Magic game products specifically for beginners. Here, Turtle Team-Up is a special set of decks that allow two players team up to face a “Boss” enemy deck that pilots itself.

The general idea is that each Boss card gives unique powers to the creatures contained in the boss deck. Each Boss automatically casts an additional card each turn, and players begin battling {one Boss|
