Formula 1 racer Liam Lawson stated he came dangerously close to a life-threatening collision during Sunday's F1 event in Mexico when two safety personnel ran across the track directly in front of him

The alarming incident took place on the third rotation when track officials were spotted on the circuit as Lawson was returning to the race following an quick visit to the pits to swap his compromised front wing

Racer's Instant Response

Moments later, the team's competitor Lawson communicated to his team engineer saying: "Are you kidding me? Did you just see that? I might have... taken their lives"

"I truly couldn't comprehend what I was observing"

"I came out on a brand new hard tyres, and then I approached Turn One and suddenly there were two dudes dashing across the track"

"In the third rotation, safety personnel were alerted and put on alert to go onto the racing surface and recover the debris once all cars had passed"
