Friendly match: Wales vs England

The Wales head coach states the English squad depth is remarkable that matchmakers wouldn't pair them with the Welsh team.

Bellamy's men meet England in a non-competitive match at Wembley on Thursday before their important World Cup qualifier against Belgium next Monday.

England manager Tuchel has omitted the such as Bellingham, Phil Foden and Jack Grealish out of his selection for the Wales friendly and their qualifying game against Latvia.

"England have a incredible team, like France," Bellamy remarked.

"They have a market valuation of 1.4 billion pounds, Wales' is £170m. Were you a fight promoter, you would not put us together. It wouldn't be allowed."

Bellamy explains making sure the Welsh team can compete with the star-studded opponents is a "key motivation".

The Wales head coach added: "We don't go off market prices, but the reality is they don't just have one team. They possess multiple and France and other nations have the same level. England have many top talents and that's the honest truth."

"One right-back was ruled out injured the recently and there's only two dozen others to go! They've got 60-odd footballers. I wish us to be well-equipped like them."

The neighbouring countries most recently met at the 2022 tournament in the Middle East, when England emerged as easy 3-0 winners in a fixture before the previous England team reached the quarter-finals.

The new manager is Tuchel, a Champions League and Fifa Club World Cup winner at the London club who has claimed domestic titles in Ligue 1 and his native Germany.

The Welsh boss was previously an coach at Anderlecht and Burnley to Kompany, who replaced Tuchel at the German giants.

"Tuchel's an incredible manager - his record is proven," he added.

"I possess some sort of insight because the club he left I am familiar with people who have joined. I gain a bit of an insight there of how he works and it's very impressive. "

"His tactical detail is elite and I wanted to be facing that - see how you're going to adapt because he adapts too. I will get to learn from that. I'd love to reach such heights."
